English Medium School
With a view to meet the need of the local tribal people in education in English Medium School
and for the development of their education to the national level.
The Yakhili Academy Society opened an English Medium School Established on 5th of June in 1991.
The school name is same as the society, Yakhili academy. It is purely private institution.
The school, although provides education for boys and girls of all Communities,
but it will specially provide education to the tribal minority community of Tripuris.
As the location of the school is ideal and the aims of the institution are appropriate for all, it is growing quite fast.
The Yakhili Academy got its registration in the year of 1992,
Registration Detail : REGD. No. 2065.
Moreover since 1993 the Baptist Church of Mizoram (BCM).
Promptly extent their help for the smooth running of the school
by deputing their personnel to hold the posts of Principal and Teaching staffs.
Our Aims & Objectives
The Yakhili Academy English Medium School aims at giving the children a sound, physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual educations based on christian principles.
We follow in the footstep of Jesus as we live, love and learn together.
Our school is Christ-centered, bringing the Gospel to life through prayer, word and example.
We develop, maintain and strengthen relationships between the school, church and home community in the spirit of love, peace and justice.
We nurture and inspire the uniqueness of every child so that each one can learn and grow in order to reach their full potential.
The Location of Yakhili Academy
The School is located at Khumulwng, the Headquarter Complex of Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) within the
West District of Tripura State. The TTAADC government allotted the school to occupy 5.80 acres of land in c.s. plot No. 388 and 472
(part) in Mouja Jirania with ADC Headquarter Complex
(vide letter No. F.3(97)/ADC/Land/93/429-30/ Khumulwng dated 27.8.93)
under the scheme utilization of land for extending education to the children of localities.
The distance of the state capital from Yakhili Academy English Medium School’s location is 22.5 Kilometers.
Growth & Development
Since its inception, the school is growing slowly but steadily. The education department, Government of Tripura accorded recognition on 13-01-2000 up-to Class X (Ten) on 27-03-2002
(vide letter No. F.11(7-86)-DSE/95 dated 27-03-2002 and is affiliated to Tripura Board of Secondary Education
(vide letter No. F. 3(2)-TBSE/YA/2002 dated 25/11/2002).
The school start sending candidates for appearing Madhyamik (HSLC) Exam in the year 2003 under Tripura Board of Secondary Education.
Since then the school is sending candidates to appear their Madhyamik Final exam every year.
Among the schools in rural areas and those under Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Yakhili Academy is proud to have students,
who score Distinction Marks (75% and above) while it is very difficult to get even First Division marks (60%) for the student studying in the schools under rural areas.
In the mean time, many schools situated in the rural areas of Tripura perform very well in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
This circumstance compels the Students and Guardians of Yakhili Academy also to covet the prestigious Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Because of this the school authority is bound to seek permission for affiliation of the school to the CBSE.
The students in Yakhili Academy (Secondary School) consists of 883 students (as enrollment of 2019) from different types of Tripuri
Communities, viz- Debbarma, Jamatia, Reang, Kalai, Rupini, Murasing, Garo, Hrangkhawl, Kaipeng, Molsom, Mizo, Mog, Hmar, Darlong etc
and also children of Central Forces like CRPF, BSF, Assam Rifles etc. This creates broad-mindedness and understanding among the students.
The school has two playgrounds on both sides of the school buildings. The area of the grounds are (1) 60mx80m and (2) 60mx90m respectively.
Other Games facilities like volley ball court, Badminton court, Kabadi, and other Indoor Games are available.
Problems We Are Facing
Since, Yakhili Academy is affiliated to the Tripura Board of Secondary Education till date many guardians who are bound to move from state to state faces problems in admitting their children in our school
and in the mean time our students who are bound to move to other states finds problems admitting themselves due to differences of the Education Board in other states.
So in order to overcome the problems that the guardians of our students are facing, the school authority is trying its best to get the school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
As Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for both public and private schools, controlled and managed by Union Government of India.
CBSE has asked all schools affiliated to follow only NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) curriculum.
There are approximately 19,316 schools in India and 211 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated to the CBSE
